A fond farewell from CancerCare Manitoba Foundation to a beloved event

The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation has proudly presented The Weekend to End Breast Cancer fundraising event for the past two summers and we have been incredibly pleased with the community involvement which raised an astonishing $5.7 million to support breast cancer care, treatment and research in Manitoba.

Being able to share a weekend-long journey and stand as a community against this disease will forever remain a cherished experience for the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Your accomplishments in this event will last a lifetime and have made a real difference in the fight against breast cancer through the funding of critical research initiatives and patient programs that will save lives.

This year, the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation has had to re-examine the plan for another Weekend to End Breast Cancer in Winnipeg, bearing in mind current fundraising, possible future fundraising initiatives and our desire to not over-extend our community. After careful consideration, we have decided not to present a third Weekend to End Breast Cancer in 2008. The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation recognizes your efforts and is incredibly grateful for the energy and enthusiasm you have displayed in making a bold commitment to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer care in Manitoba.
